Meeting with Former Prime Minister Khaled Bahah in Mukalla

On Monday morning in Al-Mukalla, former Prime Minister Mr. Khaled Bahah met with the Founders’ Council, Board of Trustees, and Executive Management of the Hadhramout Culture Foundation. This was his first meeting with the Foundation since its establishment.

Dr. Abdullah Banakhar, a member of the Founders’ Council, opened the meeting by warmly welcoming Mr. Bahah, expressing his great pleasure in this gathering that brought together the former Prime Minister and the Foundation’s leadership to exchange ideas, programs, and projects aimed at enhancing and sustaining cultural activity in Hadhramout and across Yemen.

Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Baqshan, Chairman of the Founders’ Council, also extended his welcome to Mr. Bahah, praising his continued engagement with the Foundation’s projects and programs, as well as its partner institutions, highlighting his commitment to achieving the Foundation’s developmental and cultural objectives.

Executive Director Eng. Shurooq Al-Ramadi discussed the Foundation’s role during its first year, presenting its flagship projects such as the Qur’an Forum, the training workshop in Egypt on documenting intangible cultural heritage, and other initiatives implemented during its inaugural year. Heads and representatives of the Foundation’s creative departments also shared past and upcoming activities to provide Mr. Bahah with an overview of the Foundation’s medium- and long-term plans for advancing cultural excellence and spreading it globally.

Mr. Bahah, for his part, commended the Foundation’s significant achievements in a short period, emphasizing that the sustainability of this cultural work begins with its youth. He underscored the role of civil society institutions in supporting and strengthening state institutions and offered the Foundation a set of recommendations and proposals to be integrated into its strategic planning.
